Every year, the Friends of Euclid Creek presents a $1000 scholarship to a deserving student planning to go into an environmental science career with an interest in watershed issues. An additional $500 scholarship may be given to a second deserving student. Application deadline is April 1, 2022. Friends of Euclid Creek 2022 Scholarship Application

The Friends of Euclid Creek (FOEC), a grassroots, non-profit organization advocating for the health of the Euclid Creek watershed, is pleased to announce the availability of its 2022 annual scholarship in environmental studies. This scholarship aids one deserving student in his/her pursuit of a degree or certificate in environmental studies, field
biology, or any scientific field related to watershed health.


FOEC is currently seeking applications from high school seniors or college students who are interested in studying within the fields of environmental science. A one thousand dollar ($1,000.00) scholarship - earmarked for educational purposes – will be awarded. There may be a second scholarship of five hundred dollars ($500.00) also. The Friends
of Euclid Creek Board of Directors approves all awards.

Applicants must not have received a previous scholarship from the Friends of Euclid Creek. Applicant evaluation is based on background and potential to contribute to environmental studies. Interested students must submit a one to two-page letter describing their career goals, past volunteer work related to environmental studies, and significant achievements to date. Applicants also must provide a minimum of one letter of recommendation from a teacher, counselor or community member.  Please provide complete contact information including a permanent address, phone number, and email address.

Our Ideal Candidate:

  • Realizes the importance of and pursues STEM

  • Is highly motivated by their chosen subject

  • Works well with people 

  • Is a self-starter 

  • Has or would volunteer in environmental activities even if no jobs were available

  • Has considered the career opportunities to contribute to environmental recovery

  • Has experience in the field being pursued (has already worked in the chosen field)

Emailing applications is also permitted. Applicants must also be willing to complete an interview with FOEC members, upon request, and release information and photos about winning the scholarship.
